Kirkcaldy has a real mix of property types, and each needs a slightly different approach. We work on traditional and older homes, stone-built properties, flats and communal buildings, ex-local-authority and family homes, renovation-stage properties and extensions, right through to newer housing developments and commercial premises like shops and offices.
It’s worth saying clearly: an older property does not automatically need rewiring. Plenty of older homes are perfectly safe. The right work depends on the condition of the existing installation, what an inspection and testing reveals, the wiring history, access, any alterations already made, and what you actually need. That’s why we survey first and advise honestly, rather than assuming the worst.
The same clear approach whether it’s a single repair or a full rewire.
Get in touch by phone, email or the form with a few details about what you need.
We talk through the property, the work and anything you already know about the electrics.
For larger jobs and inspections we survey the property so everything is understood and priced properly.
You get a clear, no-obligation quotation based on the actual work involved.
Once you’re happy, we agree a schedule and any preparation needed before we start.
We carry out the work tidily and safely, keeping you informed as we go.
The work is inspected, tested and certified so you have proper documentation.
We hand over, explain what’s been done and are on hand for anything afterwards.
There’s no single price for “an electrician” because no two jobs are the same. These are the things that genuinely affect what a job costs, all of which we assess before quoting:
We provide free surveys and clear quotations based on the actual job, so you know where you stand before any work begins.
We help landlords, letting agents and property managers across Kirkcaldy keep rented properties safe and compliant, with:
Private landlords in Scotland must ensure that a current electrical safety inspection is in place for the property. The inspection must be completed before the property is let for the first time and repeated at intervals of no more than five years, or sooner where the previous inspection recommends a shorter interval. It does not need to be repeated every time a new tenancy begins if the existing inspection is still current. Before the tenancy starts, the incoming tenant must be given copies of the current EICR and the relevant in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment report, commonly called the PAT report. Our EICR testing page explains how this works in more detail.

“Fabulous service. Haddon provided a quote and completed the works in a timely and professional manner. We are delighted with the job - and this was for elderly parents who he took the time to explain exactly what was being done, and why. Would highly recommend, without hesitation.”
