Privacy Notice
Last updated: August 20261. Who we are
This website is operated by HS Elite Electricians Limited, trading as Fife Electricians. Registered in Scotland, company number SC833524. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
You can contact us by email at info@fifeelectricians.co.uk or by telephone on 01592 407374.
2. Information we collect
When you contact us through this website, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number
- Your postcode
- Information about the property
- Your customer type, such as homeowner, landlord or business
- The service you are asking about
- Your preferred contact method
- The message or job details you send us
We may also receive technical information such as the page and form used to submit the enquiry. Formspark may process ordinary technical request information needed to receive and protect a submission, including IP address, browser type and referring website addresses.
Not all of this information is necessarily kept permanently. Some is used only at the point of enquiry, for example to check a submission is genuine, and some is kept only for as long as it remains useful for the purposes set out below.
3. How information is collected
We collect information when you call or email us, when you provide details during a survey, quotation or job, and when you submit a website enquiry form. The browser sends a valid form submission directly to Formspark through an AJAX JSON request. Formspark receives and stores the submission in its dashboard, screens it for spam and sends an email notification to our configured business recipient. Technical and analytics information unrelated to this form request will only be collected automatically where the relevant production technology is active and any required consent has been given.
4. Why we use personal information
We may use the information you provide to:
- Receive, review and respond to your enquiry
- Provide information, prepare a survey, estimate or quotation where appropriate
- Arrange and carry out electrical work
- Manage communication with you as a customer
- Identify which service or area page generated the enquiry
- Maintain an appropriate record that enquiries were delivered
- Protect the forms against spam and misuse
- Investigate delivery problems
- Improve the performance and usability of the website
- Measure where enquiries come from, where production analytics is activated and you have granted the required consent
- Measure advertising performance, where advertising tracking is activated and the relevant consent has been given
5. Our lawful bases
Data-protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using your information. Depending on the situation, we rely on:
- Steps requested before entering a contract: for example, providing the quotation you have asked us for.
- Performance of a contract: where you go ahead and we carry out work for you.
- Legitimate interests: such as keeping the website secure, managing enquiries properly and improving our services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations: such as accounting records and electrical safety records we are required to keep.
- Consent: for optional analytics or advertising technologies where consent is required.
Consent is not the only basis on which we handle an enquiry. If you ask us for a quotation, we handle that enquiry in order to take the steps you have requested.
6. Website enquiries and quotations
When you submit an enquiry, the details are sent to Formspark, operated by Trampoline Software SRL. The submission may include your name, telephone number, email address where requested, postcode, property or customer information, selected service or enquiry type, communication preference where present, free-text enquiry details, and the originating page and form context.
Formspark stores submissions in its dashboard, applies automatic spam filtering and sends genuine submissions as email notifications to our configured business recipient. A hidden honeypot field provides an additional spam signal. No visible CAPTCHA is currently active, spam filtering may not identify every unwanted submission, and no customer acknowledgement or autoresponder email is currently sent.
7. Who information may be shared with
We do not sell your personal information. Formspark, operated by Trampoline Software SRL, acts as our processor for website form submissions. It receives the submitted information, stores it in the Formspark dashboard, applies automatic spam filtering, sends an email notification to our configured business recipient, and provides submission-management and export facilities.
Where necessary, information may also be shared with or processed by our website-hosting, email and website-support providers, and by professional advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities where legally required or permitted. Optional analytics or advertising providers will only receive information if their production tools are activated and the applicable consent requirements are met. No webhook, Slack, Zapier or CRM integration currently receives form submissions, and the website does not store them in an internal database.
8. Website analytics and advertising
No analytics or advertising scripts are currently active. If these technologies are activated later, they will only be used in accordance with the consent choices available through Cookie Settings. Analytics may then help us understand site use and enquiry journeys; advertising conversion tracking may measure which campaigns generate enquiries. Technologies requiring consent will not load until consent is given.
Functional consent currently controls Google Maps. The website does not create a Google Maps iframe or initiate a map request until Functional permission is granted. A visitor can withdraw that permission through Cookie Settings, which removes active map embeds.
9. International data transfers
Formspark states that its products and web properties are operated from Belgium and that information submitted through its service is transferred to and stored in Ireland. We will review this section if Formspark changes its arrangements or if we later select other systems that process information outside the United Kingdom.
10. How long information is kept
We keep enquiry and customer information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including responding to enquiries, providing requested services, maintaining appropriate business records and meeting legal, accounting or regulatory obligations. How long information is kept may therefore depend on the nature of the enquiry and whether work is carried out.
A submission stored in the Formspark dashboard, an email copy delivered to our business inbox, and any later record created if the enquiry becomes a quotation, customer or job are separate copies. Deleting information from one system does not automatically remove every copy from every other system.
11. How information is protected
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to enquiry information is limited to those who need it to respond to you or carry out the work. Formspark automatically screens every submission for spam, and the website includes a hidden honeypot field; no visible CAPTCHA is currently active.
12. Marketing
Submitting an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. We will not use your enquiry details for unrelated electronic marketing without an appropriate lawful basis. No customer acknowledgement or autoresponder email is currently active.
13. Your data-protection rights
You have rights over your personal information, including the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to erase information where there is no continuing reason to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information in certain circumstances
- Object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests
- Ask for your information in a portable format, where that right applies
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 15.
14. Cookies
Necessary storage is used to remember privacy choices and support website operation. Functional consent controls Google Maps, which is not loaded before permission. Analytics and advertising technologies are not currently active. Full details are in our Cookie Policy, and choices can be reviewed or withdrawn through Cookie Settings.
15. How to contact us
If you have a question about this notice or about how we handle your information, contact us at info@fifeelectricians.co.uk or on 01592 407374.
16. How to complain to the ICO
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
17. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes to our services, systems or legal obligations. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
